Catch-Up

Not much to say- were busy getting ready for Christmas and our trip to Florida, where Isaac will meet his “Poppy Cal” for the first time. Hooray! We’re all a little excited; we don’t get to see nearly enough of AJ’s family.

I’ve got new posts on Dandelion Daisy (my cards), Mommyhood Confidential and Adventures in Home Ecomomics. I probably won’t get a chance to post while we’re away, but I’ve got a few scheduled to post on AIHE on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays.

If  i’m not back before then… Merry Christmas, everyone!

Bestest Pop-Up Ad EVER.

I’m not sure if it’s scarier that someone would try this, or if it’s that people will actually fall for it…

Most Excellent Website

If you like Barack Obama, this is a wicked website.

If you like babies, this is a super sweet website.

Either way, it’s a lot of pictures of Obama with babies and little kids, and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. However you feel about the political side of things, it’s darn nice to see stuff like this. Also a few pictures of Biden and Michelle Obama with babies… mostly Barack.

Yes We Can (Hold Babies)- http://yeswecanholdbabies.wordpress.com

A few of my favourites (you know, if you’re in a rush…):

“Mmmmm, baby smell…”

Two Huge Smiles in This Picture!

Your Skin Is Just So Soft!

This Kid Is a Good Hugger!

“HOLY CRAP, THAT IS BARACK OBAMA.”    (lol- seriously. Look at the face on this kid!)

and maybe my favourite: HUGZ!

And OK, maybe it’s not fair to post this with the pictures of Obama with happy babies, but this is friggin’ hilarious!

Other “blobs”

Yeah, I know, I haven’t been writing. It’s not that nothing is happening around here; in fact, TOO MUCH is happening for me to have time to get on here and write about it. Also? Not feeling so funny lately, and goodness knows I wouldn’t want to bore y’all with the insignificant and mind-numbing details of my life if I can’t put a humourous spin on it. I’m not depressed… just uninspired.

I will tell you that I got pictures of the house that we’ll be renting after AJ graduates and we move out east, and it’s most excellent. We’ve never had three bedrooms before- wheeeeee! We’re going to be enjoying hardwood floors (which I prefer to carpets for ease of cleaning), one and a half bathrooms, an unfinished basement and a big yard. With deer! Unfortunately, we just found out that the friggin’ appliances don’t come with the house. How weird is that for a rental?!  So we’re not going to have a fridge, stove, washer or dryer when we move in, and money’s going to be tight until that first paycheque. Toaster oven, here we come!

While I’m not writing, I am enjoying a few other people’s exceedingly amusing blaaaaaghs. I kind of don’t like to admit it, but I don’t really like reading Dooce, even though she’s got one of the most popular sites out there- forty-bajillion hits a day or something like that. Just not my thing, I guess- I know tons of people adore her writing. I do, however, have a few other favourites:

All and Sundry– SO funny, especially if you have kids and can relate to her frustrations

Dad Gone Mad– see above, but with more foul language, fart jokes and general guy humour (and I mean that in the nicest way possible)

Money Grubbing Lawyer– not about parenting… weird! Adventures in the world of personal finance, Foodie Fridays and damn funny posts. Good fun even if you don’t… actually… HAVE any money…

Anne Nahm– Anonymous. Pregnant. Hysterically funny. My hero (well, one of them).

You’re welcome!
